WelcomeWelcome to Baksh Research Group, located in Edmonton, Canada. Our research projects incorporate discovery biomedical science, clinical research and drug discovery. Our research is particularly focused on a molecular and genetic understanding of the link between inflammation and cancer. Our models utilize human samples, knockout mice and 3D cultures (mammospheres and intestinal organoids). Our disease focus includes inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) linking to colorectal cancer, highly metastatic breast cancers (inflammatory breast cancer and triple negative breast cancer) and Hodgkin’s lymphoma. They all have inflammation as a stronger driver of malignancy in common.
